Welcome to America*
Welcome to America*, is a controversial project on the topic of “do immigrants really steal jobs from Americans?” The reasoning I picked this topic is because growing up as an immigrant in the United States I’ve experienced a lot of discrimination in the work field. I wanted to investigate more on this topic and see what other people’s views were on this topic.
My college Immigration courses sparked my interests on immigration and policies. In these classes I learned about an American economist named George Borjas. We discussed his opinions on immigration and how it is affecting the American Economy. While listening to activists who oppose his opinion it really made me want to research this topic further.
The book features research that was collected, and stories of people who I interviewed. The purpose of this book is to show both sides of this controversy.
